The captain of the Renaissance Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, with his loyalty, his Spartan lifestyle, and his moral commitment, inspired this creation. Imagine the scent of a military camp: the sweetness of wild shrubs, the smoke of the campfire, the smell of leather horse nails. A powdery rose, symbol of his secret mistress, completes an intense heart of vetiver, the main protagonist of this fragrance.

NOTES : wormwood, caraway, honey, Bulgarian rose, daffodil, iris butter, beeswax, cedarwood, vetiver, patchouli, oak moss, leather.

It is a perfume extract, to be used sparingly as the concentration is 25%. It has a great longevity (12 hours on average).

The inspiration behind The Black Knight

The Black Knight is a gothic, intense, and sophisticated fragrance inspired by the historical figure Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere (John of the Black Bands), an Italian condottiero (mercenary captain) of the Renaissance who belonged to the glorious Medici family.

I was captivated by this character for his stoic commitment to his cause, his loyalty, and his Spartan way of life - despite his noble origins.

The fragrance attempts to depict the atmosphere of a military camp, starting with the scent of wild shrubs, then the smoke of the campfire and the smell of horse nails. 

The evolution then delves into the soul of this stern character, revealing the presence of a secret mistress, with a powdery rose complementing the deep heart made of vetiver.

I did not add typical animal notes, as the intensity of the vetiver, combined with the smoky character of the leather, was already present.

I wanted to combine the uncompromising and human aspects of this fascinating character into a dark, medieval, and meditative fragrance.
