MELIPONA - NECTAR OLFACTIF
Vanilla originated in Mexico, where the Aztecs used it to sweeten the bitterness of chocolate. Numerous European attempts were made to cultivate vanilla beans outside its original cradle. Louis XIV fell in love with it and wanted to grow it on Bourbon Island, Reunion Island. But all attempts under his reign failed. No one knew how to fertilize vanilla outside its native range. Europeans were unaware that the Mexican Melipona bee was responsible for pollination. Thanks to the bee, the orchid produces a long, green fruit known as the vanilla bean.
Gourmand and suave, Melipona is a fragrance that opens elegantly with woody, vanilla notes, before giving way to oriental and amber notes in the base.
Top notes: Bourbon Vanilla
