THE FALL OF PHAETON
Pierre Paul Rubens was a Flemish Baroque painter, renowned for his canvases that emphasize movement, color, and sensuality. His dramatic style often referenced aspects of Greek mythology and Christianity.
When Phaeton, son of Helios, climbed into the sun god's chariot, he lost control of it. The horses, running wild, scorched and froze the earth. Zeus responded by striking Phaeton down with a devastating bolt of lightning. Rubens depicts Phaeton hurled from Helios's golden chariot, his hair on fire, in the image of an earth engulfed in flames, surrounded by terrified horses and the deities of the seasons, guardians of the laws and order of time.
This bold fragrance pays tribute to the tragedy of Phaeton who, despite his resounding failure, dared even more. Opening with blazing notes of bergamot and lemon, spicy cardamom, pink pepper, and ginger, Argos FALL OF PHAETON then reveals a captivating heart of labdanum, lavender, and agarwood. Finally, base notes of rich musk, animalic leather, sweet tonka bean, and vanilla bring this provocative and tumultuous event to life.
